TRUTH means FIDELITY to a required standard; the state or quality of being FAITHFUL to; a system of concepts that REFLECTS a perspective
14 So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of[a]unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.15 Rather, let our lives lovingly[b]express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).16 For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to fill maturity, building itself up in love.
WHAT IS YOUR TRUTH?
It sounds like a easy question, but it isn't that simple. Alot of women think that if you say you believe something... then that is your truth. In reality, your truth is what you FAITHFULLY use in your circumstances to get RESULTS. It is your IMMEDIATE response. It is the concepts and understanding that you depend on to resolve the issues you are facing in your life. It is the PILLARS that you depend on in REACTION to your circumstances. Your truth is your GO TO perspective!
So even tho you believe that the word is TRUTH, you must ASK yourself if you are USING that TRUTH for your circumstances. If you are not using the TRUTH of the WORD as your RESPONSE to the circumstances you face... You need to ask yourself what are you using and WHY?
What is your response to someone getting you ANGRY?
What is your response to someone cutting in LINE?
What is your response to someone CURSING at you?
What is your response to CONFLICT?
How do you respond to a man FLIRTING with you.. and you are married?
This is not just about NEGATIVE responses in our circumstances but it is also our POSITIVE responses. What do they reflect. What is your TRUTH with regards to POSITIVE circumstances?
Do you put the cart back at the grocery store?
What is your response to dropping something that is INCONVENIENTLY far away?
How do you address people?
How do you respond to compliments?
How do you choose what you are going to wear?
Why do you buy the things you buy?
WE MUST ANALYZE OUR TRUTHS
Why do you do what you do? Why do you respond the way you respond? Did you ever analyze the FOUNDATION to your reaction?
The scripture in our devotional is powerful. It is telling us to be deliberate regarding THE TRUTH . We are to make the truth of the word of God our truth for our lives.
WE MUST BE SURE
14 So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of [a]unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead.
We must be SURE. We can't move back and forth between the ways of our flesh (old man) and the word. I love when the scripture says, "chance gusts of teaching and wavering." The TRUTH that we live in our lives needs to be founded on the word of God. Anything else is "chance gusts!" The bible sees TRUTHS not founded on the word as "erratic blowing winds" that takes us in all kinds of directions. These TRUTHS that are not founded on the word are seen as "fickle", "unreliable", "happen-stance". We don't want our decisions to be "CIRCUMSTANTIAL" like a "gambler engaged" in a game. We want our TRUTH to be the GUIDING force that DEFINES who we are and WHAT we stand for!!! We as Kingdom Women are reflections of something greater than ourselves. We are a reflection of the truth of the word of God in the earth, functioning to bring Glory toGOD!.
POINTS TO PONDER
1. What is your truth?.
2. What is your reaction to the circumstances in your life?
3. Do you react unconsciously or PURPOSEFULLY?.
4. We must check our MOTIVES in our choices.
OUR TRUTHS MUST BECOME PURPOSEFUL
Our lives MUST become PURPOSEFUL! We can not live.... where CIRCUMSTANCES blow us back and forth. Our TRUTH must become what CONTROLS our CIRCUMSTANCE.
15 Rather, let our lives lovingly [b]express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
God wants our lives to "LOVINGLY" express TRUTH in ALL THINGS. The word says SPEAKING, DEALING, LIVING TRULY. The word says when we do... we are "growing up in every way". So the word of God says that LIVING a LIFE of TRUTHmeans that we are becoming MATURE BELIEVERS.
This week ANALYZE your TRUTHS and what is guiding your decisions for your circumstance. Begin to remove the truth of your flesh and replace it with the truth of the word. PRACTICE living out those truths this week and watch the hand of God move mightily in your life.
I love your truth. I declare your word over my circumstances. Show me where I am not living according to your word. Holy Spirit "check" me in the midst of my conversations and reactions, show me where MY truth needs to be replaced by YOUR truth.
